Greg Pattillo was described by the New York Times as “the best in the world at what he does.” After his landmark videos went viral on YouTube in 2007, Pattillo has been known worldwide for his signature beatbox flute sound, performing and teaching as a soloist and as a founding member of The Project Trio.

With over 100 million views of his solo videos, featuring arrangements of Super Mario Bros., Inspector Gadget, Peter and the Wolf, Sesame Street. Greg has been featured on the Jay Leno show (NBC), iCarly (Nickelodeon), It’s On with Alexa Chung (MTV), and YolanDa’s Band Jam (CBeebies). His music was featured in the 2017 Lego Ninjago Movie as the Beatbox Flute music of “Master Wu”.

The Project Trio has produced 6 full-length CDs, 2 EPs, and a live DVD, as well as cultivating over 100,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel.  They have played tours in Italy, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Israel, as well as most US states. After winning a U.S. Department of State American Music Abroad Fellowship, the Project Trio embarked on a diplomatic and educational tour of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.

Collaborations with the Trio and Orchestras include concerts with the St. Louis Symphony, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Dallas Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, and many more.

As an educator Mr. Pattillo has taught masterclasses on Beatbox Flute and Improvisation at numerous higher education institutions including the Juilliard School, Yale University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Columbia University, University of Michigan, Berklee College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music, and many more. As a member of the Project Trio, Greg has outreached to over 700,000 students with concerts and assemblies all over the world. He has also published 2 books on beatbox flute. 

Growing up in Seattle, WA, Greg started playing the flute in his 4th grade public school band class. He attended The Cleveland Institute of Music, graduating with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Flute Performance. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
